The farmhouse project guest house contains 4 bedrooms, a bunk room, 3 1/2 baths, a great room with kitchen, dining, and sitting areas, a pantry, a mudroom and entry porch, a second living room with a kitchenette/bar, and a ‘milking room’ breezeway that connects the house to the barn.
We’ve shown the guest baths and powder rooms and here we’ll share the gorgeous en suite bath and the delightful pantry.
Guest House En Suite Bath
In our continuing trend of bathroom designs, last but definitely not least in the #farmhouseproject is this neutral beauty. This is the primary en suite bath in the guest house and was the last bathroom finished in that house.
It is a primarily white marble bath but elevated with accents of black and gold. I’ve said it often….my favorite mantra: Every room can use a touch of black!
The floor, shower floor and shower walls are all in a low maintenance marble-look porcelain tile. And the vanity counter and backsplash are in an easy-care marble-look quartz.
Large format tiles line the shower walls and niche. A glass topped half wall separates the shower from the toilet alcove and lets abundant light flood the bathroom.
A marble mosaic tile feature wall behind the vanity is a showstopper in black and white Carrara in a curvy stylized flower pattern.
Curves are echoed in the pretty beveled mirrors and shaped quartz backsplash.
The tall backsplash houses wall mounted chrome faucets with cross handles for a pretty farmhouse look.
A black vanity provides elegant contrast against all the white marble. And gold hardware, mirrors and sconces add a touch of warmth.
Whenever possible, we use sconces flanking the sides of the mirror(s) rather than over the mirror fixtures, and this substantial sized vanity wall allowed that here.
Extra long cabinet pulls were added to the false sink front vanity drawers to function as hand towel bars.
This elegant en suite bath is perfect for pampering lucky guests who stay here!
Walk-in Pantry
Just below the primary suite in this house is the great room housing kitchen, dining, and sitting areas and this walk-in pantry closet.
We painted the pantry walls in navy to match the cabinetry and echo the navy kitchen island in the adjacent great room.
Wood floors extend throughout this space, and natural wood counters and shelving line the pantry wall.
Cabinet hardware and a drum ceiling light are finished in a warm brass.
The hand crafted wrought iron pantry shelf brackets have traveled with the homeowners from the first house we did with them 30 years ago…That’s some dedicated recycling, and they are perfect in this space!
We are looking forward to photographing a few more of the charming rooms in this guest house to share in the coming months!
