On a recent visit to the Boston Design Center looking for fabrics for a couple of current projects, we came across these fabulous finds! I am a total sucker for anything embroidered...embroidered linen or silk makes me swoon. The textures we spied included embroidery, appliqué, and some unusual embellishments.
Below: a striped embroidered fabric with copper embellishments, a white raw silk look with broad stripes created from 3D applied flowers in a pebbled pleather, and a taupe linen with stripes made up of geometric shapes in embroidery and pleather embellished with gold beads
Heavy floral and vine embroidery on linen - this fabric is available in both a subtle taupe/grey/white neutral blend and an elegant all white version
The striking contrast of golden embroidery and/or appliqué on dark herringbone or indigo linen or green barkcloth makes a dramatic statement
While these soft lilac-grey colored linens embroidered with floral or geometric patterns strike a more subtle note
And finally, there is the casual elegance of a simple gray linen with white embroidery
or the sumptuous opulence of a heavily embroidered gray silk
Embellished fabrics are a beautiful way to add texture and pattern and instantly raise the elegance quotient of any room!
