Farmhouse Project Guest Kitchen and Bar Reveal

Today we are sharing the finished kitchen and bar areas of the Farmhouse Guesthouse project.

Guesthouse is maybe a bit misleading, as it is a near twin next door to the primary house where the clients live. They purchased the property, which was in need of a complete gut renovation, to create ample guest space for visiting family and friends from across the globe.

The Kitchen

The house was completed in two phases, and the kitchen is part of a great room at the back of the house that was the second phase of the project. Almost nothing could be salvaged in this end of the house so it was redesigned completely to complement the front of the house.

Blue is a main color thread that runs throughout the house. The kitchen features classic white perimeter cabinets, a navy island, and hardworking quartz counters.

Patterned encaustic cement-look tile enlivens the backsplash and subtly repeats the blues and grays.

Brass lanterns over the generous island are a nod to the farmhouse roots of the property, and brass cabinet hardware carries the warmth throughout the kitchen.

Though the owners don’t raise chickens (at least not yet!), a whimsical rooster is permitted since this IS an actual farmhouse!

The Dining Room

The dining space adjacent to the kitchen is the perfect complement from its simple-yet-elegant linear lantern chandelier to the striped sisal rug.

Blue painted dining chairs mirror the blue painted counter stools and echo the lighter blue tones in the kitchen backsplash.

An antique sideboard and giant painted armoire add serving and storage space and help the space feel as though it has been curated over time.

You can see a glimpse of the navy blue butlers pantry adjacent to the dining room. (more pics of the charming pantry HERE)

The Sitting Room Bar

The fireplaced sitting room in the front part of the house contains a more intimate space for reading, games and puzzles, or TV watching.

The corner alcove in this room was reimagined with this kitchenette/bar area for easy access to snacks and additional entertaining space.

Navy cabinets and quartz counters echo the kitchen, while brass accents in hardware and the bar faucet provide warmth.

Glass shelves with beautiful brass brackets store barware and an antique wine box and framed vintage ad contribute a nod to history.

Classic pendants light the counter and the wall is decorated with framed antique posters from the region.
