Lincoln Updated Family Colonial

This family home had a lot of potential with a working layout, graciously proportioned rooms, and beautiful millwork. But the finishes were tired and dated and not in keeping with the youthful vibe of this large family of eight.

We began updating this home room by room beginning with the primary bathroom where we kept the layout and cabinetry, but replaced the finishes and updated the shower and tub area.

After the bathroom we redid the home office turning it from a dark utilitarian space into a chic and elegant ladies office in our clients favorite color. Incorporating a touch of glamour with a chandelier, and the surprise of a hot pink ceiling, this is a now favorite spot to start the day. You can see more about that amazing transformation HERE.

Next we tackled the family room, the living space at the heart of the home where the family gathers to read, watch TV, and play games. This central room sets the color palette for the entire main floor. Opening onto the gardens with 3 sets of French doors, and containing a focal point fireplace faced in fieldstone, a garden inspired library was the design direction for the space. We updated the layout to a more workable arrangement that focused on the fireplace, designed comfortable custom seating and new additional bookcases, repainted, and curated new lighting and accessories. Read more on the specifics of this library project HERE.

And we are now in the process of making some cosmetic updates to the kitchen and breakfast room.
