Seen Around Town: Maison de Mer
Wandering about the seaside town of Swampscott on the North Shore on a beautiful summer afternoon recently, we happened upon the charming Maison de Mer shop a stones throw from the ocean!
Vintage and new tableware, furnishings and accent pieces are interspersed with imported French lotions, creams, and soaps. Alongside a few Swampscott stamped tote bags and pillows are a smattering of miscellaneous other treats from French-themed books, to paper goods and baby bibs .
Several rooms reveal treasures around every corner...
A scalloped pedestal coffee table displays glassware and crystal
And a painted antique hutch shows off vintage china
Beautiful Laguiole boxed French cutlery set
Pair of sweet side chairs with carved ribbon detail and scalloped apron...these ALMOST came home with me...I don't really need them, but I may have to go back and get them. They would be perfect painted and monogrammed with down filled cushions tied on with tassel cord. I can just picture them flanking my china cabinet and readily available as extra dining chairs!
More interesting painted side tables...
Display jars of miniature handmade guest soaps in an assortment of luscious scents like starflower and violette
A gigantic antique desk holds vintage silver pieces and a variety of preserves
This adorable petite side table was hiding under a sideboard filled with imported soaps and lotions
There are treasures in every nook and cranny of this shop, with something for everyone! Definitely a fun find!
