A Dramatic Pocket Powder Room Reveal
Whoever said good things come in small packages was probably thinking of something other than a powder room, but this one truly fits the adage!
We were in the planning stages for this almost exactly a year ago and it was completed a couple of months ago. I finally got to photograph it this week.
You can see the design process with the powder room plan options, and the challenges HERE.
The option selected was the most dramatic and a favorite of mine. Black is often a ticket to elegance in interiors and this room is no exception.
With a floor area only 33” x 57”, to say space was tight is an understatement! We found the tiniest, shallowest sink on the market - only 10” from the wall to the front edge!
Branches of white blossoms on a black background lend a striking mural effect in this tiny space.
Polished nickel sconces with crystal rods add a touch of glamour. And a curvy polished nickel single lever faucet and toilet lever have traditional lines that reference the antique vintage of the house.
It turned out we DID have depth enough to tile the floor, so we selected this classic black and white hex tile as the perfect finish to the space.
The millwork throughout the room was all painted in a glamorous glossy black - Benjamin Moore Onyx.
A plaster bust planter offers a fanciful place for a touch of greenery
We just LOVE the finished space! It is elegant and dramatic whilst still befitting the antique home it resides in.
