Modern Beach Cottage Reveal; Part 2

More on the Modern Beach Cottage…color-filled and fun are evident in some of the other key areas in this new build beach house. For the first half of the beach house tour click HERE.

In our continuing tour of the Modern Beach cottage, I first want to take you up the stairs with their smart striped runner and cable railings to the loft area.

Loft and Roof Deck

A second seating area and secluded workspace is located in a loft area at the top of the stairwell.  With windows on all sides and a blue painted shiplap clad vaulted ceiling, this room sports abundant sunlight and views in all directions.

A desk area tucked into an alcove next to the half wall on one side offers a desk and computer for quiet workspace with a view, while the center features a colorful seating area with ocean views.

A sofa bed offers extra sleeping space for additional guests and fun beach bright colors are evident in the fabrics, sophisticated rug, and even the turquoise chair legs on a pair of tub chairs!

A wicker trunk doubles as a coffee table AND storage for bedding for the sofa bed.

The loft also is the access to a roof deck that wraps 3 sides of the house.

To the east you can enjoy coffee with a view of the sunrise over the ocean.

And to the west, end your day noshing on snacks and libations as the sun sets over the marsh.

Blue and white fabrics and black frames on outdoor furnishings echo the main color theme of the house.

Bathrooms

On the main floor a master bathroom and a guest bath/laundry space both got chic treatment with striking wallpapers. Hardworking sand colored luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the main level flows seamlessly into the bathrooms as well.

The primary bath wall covering is a fanciful pattern with a sealife motif.  The classic navy, blue and taupe colors echo the colors in the adjacent primary bedroom.

A pair of classic white vanities with Carrara marble-look quartz counters are topped with elegant framed mirrors flanked by tubular sconces.

A generous shower is clad in white subway tile paired iridescent seaglass blue accent tile, and gray-blue shower floor tiles along with our favorite tile-in drain.

Clean lined Kohler fixtures in classic chrome include a fixed shower head along with a bar with a handheld shower. The shower is finished with a quartz built in seat, niche, and half wall with glass and a frameless shower door.

Blocking was added to the shower walls during construction to support the addition of grab bars in the future.

Ceilings and linen closet are painted in a pale blue.

The guest bath and laundry room is dominated by a striking show-stopper turquoise and white graphic wallpaper design.  Placement of such a distinct design is key and the paper was laid out to center on the sink so the symmetry is preserved.

An alcove contains a washer and dryer with a folding counter and open shelves above to store supplies and towels and linens.  Beach themed colorful artwork adds to the playfulness.

A white vanity with seaglass aqua knobs is topped with quartz countertop and a mirror flanked by cylindrical glass sconces.

Fluffy white turkish towels edged in turquoise are a perfect finishing touch.

We’ll update with photographs of the bedrooms in the coming weeks, but in the meantime here is a sneak peek at the fanciful guest bedroom with its coral bamboo beds and aqua wallpaper accent wall…
